2019 Season Preview
Head Coach: Matt Ardizzone (2nd Season / 5-20)
Returning Wins Leader from 2018
Johnny Jackson (13-15)
Returning Career Wins Leader in 2019
Johnny Jackson (23 wins)
With just a few seniors in the room, the Blue Bishops will have a very young group in 2019.
The bulk of the numbers lie around the 132-152 range, where the Bishops have some good experience returning with Daniel Simmons, Davens Joinvilmar, Derrington Henry, Taj Howard, and Woody Cagilus. Also back down low for Asbury is Johnny Jackson, a senior, who could be primed for a big year down at 120.
Asbury has had some good upperweights over the years, and will have to replace two of those them season, as Jaylen Paige and Kyrie Moore were lost to graduation. Junior Derrick Cortez is the lone returning starter in this year's group that will feature a handful of underclassmen vying for time in the lineup.
As mentioned, this will be a very young team, and there is a focus on building the program, increasing the numbers in the room, and to keep improving as a team. As for the experienced group, they are working hard with a focus on improving throughout the year and making a run towards qualifying for the Regions.
